It needs nurturing and caring for!
OK I know – loads have people have said this before so I am not coming out with anything new!
I thought I was nurturing our marriage. But clearly I wasn’t feeding it the right sort of ‘food’. But – in my defence – I wasn’t getting much information on what I should have been feeding it.
And Alex’s take on it. Do nothing. Just stick our marriage in a plant container and watch it die. Don’t communicate. And then, when really the situation seemed stale, apathy had set in (on his part), and ‘the plant’ was withering just move off and start again.
And there was good ‘old’ me fixing away like a demon!
No wonder I was so tired all the time!
Someone once said there are 2 types of people in this world:
“Radiators and Drains”
Alex used to be a ‘radiator’ but his inability to communicate had begun to turn him into a ‘drain’.
I am a ‘radiator’ but the fixing me had turned me into a ‘drain’ too.
What a shame (as Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow are currently singing) our marriage had to go down the plughole when all it needed was a good dose of rain and sunlight and a few thermals to make it soar.
